We’ve been blessed with the opportunity to share our love and concern for others through something tangible – the prayer shawl. We come together to follow through with our mission, to cover those who need the blessing of prayer shawls or lap blankets.

The ladies (or men) of the prayer shawl ministries meet in the lounge the first and last Wed. of the month from

1-3 p.m.

The Prayer Shawl Ministries has received number of shawls and lap blankets donated (knitted or crocheted) by our ladies. As the shawls or lap blankets are knitted or crocheted, prayers of healing and comfort are asked for the recipient at that time. When a shawl or lap blanket is given, the ladies all pray over it with the recipient’s name. Prayer shawls are used to comfort the dying, the ill, those recovering from sickness, and people needing spiritual comfort. Prayer shawls can also be given to mark special occasions, such as weddings and anniversaries. So far we have given out 130 combined shawls and lap blankets since we started the ministries.

Shawls and lap blankets can be knitted, crocheted or sewed. If you would like to learn how to knit or crochet we would be very happy to teach you. We are looking forward to having your fellowship and more busy hands for the Lord!
